About the role

PT Alam Bersemi Sentosa is seeking an experienced HSE Manager & Engineer to join our team. Due to rapid business growth and expansion, we are actively recruiting multiple candidates to join our team. Placement opportunities are available in Central Jakarta, Riau, and South Sumatra. This is a full-time position that combines strategic health, safety and environmental leadership with technical engineering expertise. The role is critical to our operations, as you will be responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing all HSE policies, procedures and initiatives across the organisation. You will report directly to senior management and play a key strategic role in ensuring that our operations meet the highest standards of safety compliance, environmental stewardship and occupational health protection. This position is based in Siak, Riau, and will require on-site presence to effectively manage HSE operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive HSE policies, procedures and programmes that comply with Indonesian legislation and international standards

• Conduct regular hazard assessments, risk analyses and safety audits across all operational areas to identify and mitigate potential risks

• Lead incident investigation processes, document findings and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence

• Manage HSE training programmes and ensure all employees receive appropriate induction and ongoing competency training

• Monitor and report on key HSE metrics, including incident rates, near-misses, lost time injuries and environmental performance indicators

• Conduct environmental impact assessments and ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations and permits

• Liaise with regulatory authorities, government agencies and third-party auditors to maintain compliance and address any compliance concerns

• Develop and manage the HSE budget and ensure cost-effective implementation of safety initiatives

• Provide technical engineering support on HSE matters and advise senior management on HSE strategy and risk management

• Lead emergency response planning, drills and preparedness activities

• Mentor and support HSE team members and promote a strong safety culture throughout the organisation

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or related discipline

• Professional certification such as AK3 Oil & Gas, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or equivalent qualification

• Minimum 3-4 years’ professional experience for managerial position in HSE management and engineering roles, preferably within the oil & gas sector

• Minimum 1 years’ professional experience for engineer position in HSE management and engineering roles, preferably within the oil & gas sector

• Substantial experience in hazard identification, risk assessment and incident investigation methodologies

• Strong knowledge of Indonesian HSE legislation, mining regulations and international standards including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001

• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing HSE management systems and compliance programmes

• Proficiency in environmental compliance, including waste management, emissions monitoring and environmental impact assessments

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholder groups, from frontline workers to executive management

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving safety issues

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE management software systems

• Fluency in English and Indonesian (written and spoken) is essential

• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel within operational areas
