About the role

As a Tourism Teacher at Child Aid Papua, you will have the opportunity to inspire and empower minds, preparing them for future careers in the tourism industry. You will teach junior and vocational school students in the tourism major.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop a comprehensive curriculum for junior and vocational school students in the tourism major, ensuring alignment with educational standards and industry requirements

• Create engaging and interactive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles, incorporating innovative teaching techniques and resources to enhance student understanding and knowledge retention

• Deliver high-quality instruction to students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment

• Utilize effective teaching strategies to facilitate student comprehension and encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills

• Possess a deep understanding of the tourism industry, staying updated with the latest trends, technologies, and practices

• Develop and administer appropriate assessments, including exams, projects, and presentations, to evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback

• Monitor student performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement remedial measures as needed

• Provide individualized attention to students, addressing their unique learning needs and fostering their personal and academic growth

• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching methodologies and share best practices

• Maintain open communication with parents and actively involve them in their child’s educational journey

About you

• Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Education, or a related field

• Teaching certification or relevant teaching experience

• In-depth knowledge of the tourism industry, including its principles, practices, and trends

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment

• Proficiency in instructional technology and digital tools for teaching

• Flexibility, adaptability, and a passion for education and youth development
